School Completion Program

School Completion Program

The School Completion Programme (SCP) was first established in 2002 as part of Department of Education and Skills (DES) DEIS Strategy – Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools.

SCP work within St Ciaran’s National School Castlejordan focuses on targeting and providing support to our students who have been identified to be most at risk of early school leaving.

St Ciaran’s National School is delighted to be part of the Edenderry School Completion Programme, coordinated by Mr. Jim Maher and supported by project worker Ms. Donna Hickey

SCP project Identifies and supports pupils at risk of not reaching their potential in the educational system because of poor attendance, participation, and retention via initiatives such as breakfast clubs; homework clubs; after school supports; mentoring programmes; and therapeutic interventions.

SCP also Ensures that schools have in place the appropriate procedures to monitor, identify and respond to attendance, participation, and retention issues.
